Animal Habitat Murals, Fall 2016

The class has been learning about animal habitats in science the past few weeks.  As a final project of the unit, I had students get into groups to create animal habitat murals.  Students practiced their collaboration skills by deciding as a group what habitat they would like to include, what that habitat is like, and think of plants and animals that live there.  After planning and designing the mural, the next day the class got to create it.  It was a flurry of activity as students were busy drawing pictures, cutting, and otherwise creating.  Here are some pictures of what came out in the end:
