Biology utilizes a standards aligned curriculum framework to cover the essential concepts of biological science.  Students will analyze and obtain an understanding  of the scientific world, as well as critical thinking skills involved in solving problems.  Students will focus on the biological structures and functions of living things. They will also as well as examine processes and systems.  Students will collect and analyze data, interpret results, draw conclusions and communicate their findings.  Students will work both independently and collaboratively in  laboratory exercises.  The goal for the course is for students to gain a meaningful understanding of the varied aspects of Biology. Subject areas covered include genetics, cellular activity, the scientific method, immune systems, levels of organization, structure and function, advancement of systems and the interconnection of man with the world.
