We reviewed plot on Wednesday and then the students spent Thursday and Friday working in groups to create a plot chart of a movie that they have recently seen. So this week we will get to the review of conflict and read "Superman and Me" and the libraries poem. However, this week is homecoming week and so that could throw the schedule off a little.

Last week we began our autobiography unit. Before we get fully into the unit the students make a collage of their interests and hobbies. This is a fun activity that allows the students to be creative and works as a planning guide for the essay that they will write the following week. We will begin the essay this week. It is a short essay that helps me learn a little bit more about the students and their writing skills. Students will also present their assignments to the class and will be graded for their skills as an audience member as well as a presenter. I expect all students to show respect to their peers because it is very difficult to get up in front of other people and present. I want the classroom to be a safe place to learn.
